The Mighty Moose Hunts: Hunt #3 - the final one (this year!)

Hunting trip #3 was on the Little Su (Susitna). Kyler stayed home in bed this time -- he'd had enough of early mornings and slogging through the swamps.

The guys hoped that if they got to a good spot really early they might actually see one they could shoot. Right away (see the pretty sunrise?) Roger caught the biggest rainbow trout he'd ever seen! Can you tell he's pretty happy 'bout it?!
A lot of pictures were taken of this baby....! I figure one of each guy holding it is probably about enough, though :)The next thing that was "bagged" was a salmon.... and that was it for the day~~The rainbow trout was bigger than the salmon caught today!
The statistics of this trout: 27 inches long, and approximately 9 pounds (it was 6 or 7 hours after it was caught before they got back to shore to weigh it)
They may not have found a moose, but Roger was pretty happy with the final outcome of this "hunting" trip! :) ~And so went this year's saga of "Fishing for Moose & Hunting for Fish"!!!
