On our way back home Sunday we made several stops. This was a really pretty little lake (Alaska is FULL of lakes) so we got the boat off the top of the truck and Roger and the kids took it out for awhile while Mom and I fixed lunch. It's hard to see, but there is writing on the back of the kids' life jackets; all of the boat launch places that we've been to in Alaska have a large sign board with children's life jackets hanging on it. They say "Kids Don't Float" on the back of them, and are there for anyone to use. You just hang them back up when you're through with them. What a great idea!
The kids wanted to do the rowing, so Roger sat back and let them. Sometimes you have to really put some muscle behind it :)
...But when Grampy helps, it is soooo much easier!

Kyler wanted to try it by himself, so they came back to shore and Roger and Toriana got out. Kyler had been watching the Olympic rowing on TV before we left to go for the weekend, so that sparked some interest. He did a really good job of getting himself around.
He discovered a lot of hung up fishing gear in the reeds, so he got in there and collected quite a bit of it.
