The Barn Stancions Turned Fence

If you look between the excavator and the smoke, you can see some stanchions across the front of the back section of the barn. Roger finished pulling down that part a few weekends ago, and he and his mom decided those old stanchions would make an interesting fence along the top of the bank beside her garage ~~ The old fence was falling down and needed to be replaced. Roger hauled the section out and painted one side of it with white primer, then a couple of week ends ago, when Tami's family was up, the new fence was set in place.

Roger picked it up with the backhoe bucket from where he had painted it and set it in place. These first pics are b/w because Britt was taking them and forgot she had her camera on the b/w setting :)

Kerri holding it in place on the back side

Leveling it up, and nailing it down :)

Trimming things up a bit

The whole crew - both workers and observers :) Doesn't the fence look like a row of filled, old fashioned milk bottles?!

The burn barrel moved back into place. Now Frankie has an interesting new fence along the edge of the bank above her orchard, and a part of the old barn lives on in a new capacity.

Nice looking fence! I've never seen or heard of the word "stanchions" before. It's probably not in the vocabulary of most city boys.

You need to dig out your dictionary, Bruce!
